i have been given 10mg nifedipine to take daily has anyone got good reports on this as scared to take as heard so much bad side affects :(

Hi Sandycharlie, I tried it in October (last year), I had headaches, even colder, fainting, dizzy, and my Raynaud's was worse than ever. I tried it for four days, had a two day break, continued for 4 weeks (to at least say I tried it). I stopped taking it. Some people here on the site have had great results and felt it really helped.

hi sandiecharlie ive been on it and been off it last time i had severe headaches dizzyness and had to be taken of nif never again im on opilon tabs now so far not too bad good luck

I have been on nifedipine for years now and never had any problems. At the moment I am on between 40 and 60mg a day.

If you have been given 1 tablet of 10mg try taking it at night so its working its way into your system whilst you are sleeping.

I sometimes get a mild headache when I am adjusting my doses but they dont last long as your body gets used to it. Same with the dizzyness.

I've been on it for over two years. Firstly 10mg then 20mg twice a day. I was apprehensive but have never had a single problem (apart from the night I went away I forgot to pack them and went a nice shade of blue!).

I am on 90 milligrams of nifedipine daily because I also have blood pressure. It suits me fine. But I diminish it if am receiving Iloprost because both dilate the blood vessels and the side effects of Iloprost are not too bad.

I've been taking Nefedipine 20mgs daily for a few months and have only praise to give it. It has helpped me no end. Try it and monitor it's effect be it good or not and keep your doctor updated.

If you're unhappy after taking Nefedipine for a while your doctor will try another medication.

Every patient is different so no one solution. Don't give up! Best wishes.

thanks everyone....decided to start today so took my first tablet this morning.....so far so good no side affects as of yet...don't know how soon you get side affects if any but will keep going, i have got go back to doctors in one month...xx
