Hi alanpeak if possible get somebody to massage it with warm lavender oil then sit with hot pack or hot water bottle on affected area for as long as possible at same time have taken whatever pain relief you are taking brufen and paracetamol are usually effective but not everyone can take them.
At all times keep it warm and try to massage it as often as possible and heat treat it when possible and try to keep it moving. Alwys cover the hot water bottle do not put on to bare skin. Hope this helps
You can try black pepper oil, mixed with a carrier oil (almond oil). This warms the area when rubbed in. One drop of pepper oil to three drops of the almond oil. If you can get to a health food store they may carry it already mixed for you or be able to mix it up. Any of the pepper oils will warm the area. I also use Deep Heat when I have problems with my joints. Another good warmer is the rice packs you can get. You can make your own by putting plain rice in a sock and tie the end, then heat in the microwave for about 1 - 2 minutes depending on the strength of your microwave. I think they sell them on the main site as well. Best of luck, I hope you get some relief.
Many thanks, Alan
