Just been reading that it has been picked up that a lot of the Covid 19 seriously ill patients had different reading of TCells which have an effect on the immune system and I wondered if anyone had any info re T. cells in relationship to Scleroderma?

T.Cells linked with Scleroderma
Hello Creditcrunchie
Interesting topic. I'm borderline limited scleroderma, diagnosed mid 2016 attributed to thymoma, before that I had ME 2002 - 2015, both can apparently affect our immunity & body's ability to fight infection.
However, surprisingly my immunity has been excellent throughout this whole period, I very rarely catch anything even when those around me are falling like flies.
Like you I've wondered about T-cells & scleroderma, wondered if any tests available to check our "count". Suspect not until current situation is well under control, and even then I doubt we'll be a priority.
I had CT scan on 30 April, 4 days later I became unwell, several bizarre symptoms matched those attributed to Covid, of which there are many. Very mild only lasted 48hrs, tho no cough, temperature or breathing problems. Both my oncologist & GP (telephone support with both) thought it could have been Covid.
I had swab test for Covid four days ago as I've colonoscopy next Tues 26 May, swab results negative. I'd like an antibody test at some point, mental note to ask hassle my GP.
I've seen reports of Vit D levels being low in some seriously ill patients, I take Vit D3 most days, 4,000 units, & essential fatty acids, (Udo's Oil), I like to think that may help my immune system, especially the Vit D3.
Sorry I've not answered your question, tho it's a good point you raise. I'd be interested in a medic's opinion.
Best wishes.
Hi all at first I was diagnosed with morpheoa but it has been updated to limited scleroderma as my kidneys plus other organs are failing and now have high blood pressure. But I too was wondering about t cells which could make sense. Although mine was caused from radio therapy.
