Hi there, neither symptom is something I particularly associate with scleroderma. People get thickening of the skin on their feet sometimes, chilblains, ulcers, and loose the pads of fat from the bottom of their feet making it uncomfortable to walk. Do you have problems with the skin on your feet usually? do you moisturise the skin regularly? Scleroderma skin is often prone to drying out and becoming itchy.

Re. the weight gain...unfortunately we tend to lose weight usually from gastric issues (anywhere from sore mouth, to reflux, to diarrhoea and constipation) so absorption and assimilation of nutrients can be an issue. People often have a smaller appetite and can only eat small amounts too). Are you on steroids or any other medications that would make you gain weight? Have you stopped doing any activity due to pain?

As I always say...If in doubt 'check it out'. A trip to the GP/Consultant or Specialist nurse is the best way to ease the mind. Sometimes health problems are nothing to do with scleroderma...but people just assume it when you already have a label of one condition.

Hope that helps
