MY fingers are so fat with the Raynauds and Scleroderma,they split like cuts on the knuckles .joan

Hello Joan,

Ouch - I know that problem well !!

A Sildenafil prescription has helped me, by increasing peripheral blood-flow to my fingers. One pill per day.

Also, I suspect avoiding allergens and stimulants like wheat products and milk products, coffee, tea and alcohol, has helped. Can't avoid black chocolate (70% cocoa) however.

Thank you Tim will go to the doctors and see if i can get some ....I dont drink coffee,alcohol.I will try not eat bread ...Will let you no if it helps...joan

Hi Tim i went to see my doctor could not get the tablet he said they were only for people with bad hearts,,but he gave me some cream steroid for my fingers but thank you once again ....how are you keeping do you have Raynauds and Scleroderma and how long have you had it for ...joan

I have CREST. The Sildenafil is for the Raynaud's aspect of the syndrome, and it works very well. I don't have any heart problem (I have been tested). Don't let your GP's ignorance distract you from finding out more about its benefits, so you may like to talk to a consultant rheumatologist.
