Should you be able to see capillaries in your nail folds if you just have raynauds. I've read yes and no. Haven't been able to get rheumy to call back.

They do a test for this. They put your hands in icy water and put a drop of oil on your fingernail. Then they look at them under a microscope. You don't usually see them through your fingers.

Can't see them. Insist to see the doctor.

If you have Primary Raynaud's your nailfold capillaries will look normal. If however you have secondary Raynaud's then the capillaries look very different and can't been seen properly except under a microscope.

Have you had an ANA (antinuclear antibody) blood test to find out if your Raynaud's is primary or secondary?

Please can you explain to me whether ANA is positive for primary or secondary Raynauds? My GP believes I have secondary Raynauds but my ANA is negative.
