'The tyranny of my disease' is an article by Leyla Sanai published in the health section of The Daily Telegraph yesterday.

This lady developed Scleroderma at the age of 35 which was 14 years ago, culminating in her leg being amputated last month. Leyla is having problems healing and I am sure everyone would join me in wishing her well for the future. I think her article is excellent and draws attention to the rarity of this disease. Leyla's quote 'whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius. power and magic in it' This is certainly something to think about. I wish I could do something clever and include her article so everyone could read it but unfortunately I wouldn't know where to begin as my computer skills are so limited.

Hi Creditcrunchie,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention ... and many thanks to you, too, Helen 48, for posting it here - I was about to go and search it out to do the same. Leyla Sanai is an amazing woman/writer/ journalist. I don't know her personally, but I came across her when blogging about the Man Booker prize a few years ago, and have tried to follow her work since. Terrible news, but her positive message sounds exactly what I would expect. I'll away and read the article. Gritty (aka DrMama)

This link is gratefully received. Thank you. I have posted it on my Facebook page and shared it with my ( limited) Facebook friends. I rather hope they will also share it with their's ad - infinitum ..... So we may all be better understood. What a battering this brave lady has had and still her soul is intact. An inspiration for the rest of us methinks. Love to you all.

It might be worth adding the link to the petition
