Alot of people on this site seem to be infusing with iloprost. My rheumatologist has never mentioned iloprost. What symptoms does it treat?

I have had Raynauds for about 30 years, but actually had it diagnosed as a medical condition only 10 years ago when it became evident that I had CREST syndrome. Evenso I was only offered Iloprost last Winter for the first time. I thought it must be something new, and was somewhat surprised to learn that others on the ward had been going regularly for years. It's not marvellous, but definitely lessens symtoms for a while. It's a strong drug that is administered intravenously for 6 hours a day for 5 consecutive days, and it dilates the capillaries in the etremeties, so the blood flow is improved. Hope this is helpful, best wishes.
Iloprost dilates the blood vessels allowing an improved blood flow to the extremeties for a while, days, weeks. Then it needs to be repeated. It helps to reduce ulcers or prevent them. But don't wait for them to remember to call you back. Book your next one when you are there or mention it to your specialist nurse.
Its worth having in my opinion, my ulcers clear up and attacks are not as painful or frequent. Eases my symptoms to make it bearable x
