Hi There,

I really don't know what causes it, but if you have Raynauds, you will most likely finish up with Scleroderma, I don't know why. I have been on all the sites on my PC to try and find out.

From what I know having raynauds Does NOT mean you will get scleroderma at all. There are a few who do but the majority don't, and just have primary raynauds.

hi asked the same question..what is scleroderma....it means tight skin....the skin feels really tight like its to small..it can also affect other organs in the body that is why you have checks on heart and lungs...this is new to me but this is what the doctor told me..as I am new to this I don't know how it would affect you....I get really stiff hands and the swell and itch..it is also in my wrist...the raynauds give me white fingers then really painful....mainly in the cold weather..but from what I have read on here it can differ from people to people on how bad they get but I do here everyone say if you have raynauds you will probably get scleroderma....stay warm an healthy..xx
