Hi just recently I went to my dermatologist for a suspicious lesion. It was round and shiny and pink I really didn’t pay to much attention too it until it became painful. So the dermatologist did a biopsy. Today I got a call and the results were Basal Cell CA . So I was told that it needed to be excised . They gave me an appt. To have it done in the Dr’s office. They told me that I would have stitches and after 2 weeks they would take them out. Also I would not be able to lift more than 10 lbs for 2 weeks. The results said Basaloid neoplasm invade the dermis. The tumor has an infiltrate. For those of you that have had basal cell can you share any tips that will help me get through this. This is my first with skin CA. Thanks. Am really scared !

Heya Jances13 and normally Basal Cell Carcinoma is not life threatening at all. I had one removed and it was in a decreased / wrinkle skin area which never even showed a scar afterwards. Its good to have it addressed early though because they do grow wider & deeper. Yeah it does cause one to awaken and worry but its no big deal :-)
