Proud to see another of our life-saving stories make it into the BDJ (British Dental Journal) this month!

Sarah is just one of our many health care and beauty industry professionals who have identified suspicious lesions on their patient’s / client’s skin and advised them to take appropriate action - despite (in this case) having the lesion previously checked out and told it was OK.

Anyone working in an industry or profession that has close-up, regular observation of their patient’s or client’s skin are uniquely placed to spot the early warning signs of skin cancer and provide trusted advice and appropriate signposting. This can prevent disfigurement through surgery and in the case of spotting a melanoma, improve prognosis and potentially save lives!

1 in 4 UK males and 1 in 5 UK females will develop non-melanoma skin cancer in their lifetime AND 1 in 36 males / 1 in 47 females will develop melanoma. The likelihood of professionals working across these industries of detecting skin cancer is huge.
