As Salaam Alaikum uhkti I'm 34yrs old and I started to have tooth decay around 27. I recently go my whole top row taken out and all of this due to opiates for sickle cell. I can say it feels much better to have them out then trying to hide or teach yourself to speak without moving your lips. I did research on YouTube to prepare myself for the new journey of dentures and I have been ok. So just see if you can find a oral surgeon that will remove all at once but 1st get fitted for your dentures. Alhamdulillah in all situations keep looking and educating yourself and if you have anymore questions please reach out. As Salaam Alaikum
Rise n Shine..I am aware of the opioid damage. Its one of those situations where we have to choose wisely. Being that there is a few dentist that is aware of the pre-medication and the healing process. I've checked with the oral maxillofacial surgeon and he recommended that all my teeth be removed. Which scared me due to the fact another dentist told me different. I have a 3rd dentist appointment so that I can compare and choose the best safety route. I will be sure to ask about being molded first. Thank you Akee
How are you? Excuse me for saying akee sister..I just wanted to ask you about taking antibiotics at the time you had your teeth pulled. Did you get nauseated & have diarrhea while even eating with them? I ended up getting 1 tooth pulled and got approved to get a discount for my dentures. I'm grateful for that because its expensive and with me on a fixed income I thought I would be in debt just to have all the work done. Howevery, do you attend any sickle cell support groups in your area? I use to volunteer at 2 place about 12yrs ago. I sure miss it..
