After 7 years on Ibrance and anastrozole, the Ibrance finally turned toxic to my wbc and I’ve had 3 recurrences. Now I am going on to the next level of treatment. Anybody on this combo?

What side effects are you experiencing?

So sorry for your recurrence. I am on Everolimus and Letrozole, it’s been almost 2 years. What’s the next course of treatment for you? The Everolimus side effects are mouth sores, elevated cholesterol, they closely observe liver function. There are several pages of side effects, but you already know that. Good luck to you next course of treatment, prayers and positive thoughts for you.

I’m hoping to maybe switch to a pill SERD for a few months so my neutrophils can recover. We don’t even know for sure this is cancer vs scar tissue. Biopsy on Monday.

I’m being treated at UCLA. Where are you being treated?

Your prayers must have worked, thank you! It turned out to be scar tissue pretending to be cancer for Halloween (my husband's words)! The signatera test showed that I have a little minimal residual disease, but the everolimus combo will knock it out before the next test.

We are talking about switching to just a SERD in about six months. I am still getting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions. But,

reading all the research in metastatic breast cancer and signed up for an update in bc that has our profile with Dr. Neil Love. I looked up how the mbc are doing on everlimus and their tricks for avoiding side effects. Hard not to feel resentful that that’s where the patient point of view is.

Funny, I’m not really stressed about the recurrence. It will be taken care of one way another. It’s the real awareness that we don’t have access - even in clinical trials - to the newest drugs for our genomic profile that are being used and tested in breast cancer!

We (a couple of EC pals and a pro bono lawyer) are starting the Endometrial Cancer Research Foundation. The goal is to bring drugs being used and tested in other types of cancers (hello bc) to EC/UC cancers with the same profiles. I have confirmed with several drs that they agree the need is urgent for this program. Private message me if you are interested in helping out.
