Hi Mary,

Thank you for reaching out to HealthUnlocked and SHARE!

We know that receiving a uterine cancer diagnosis is very difficult and we are hear to listen and offer support. If you feel comfortable sharing your story, we would be happy answer any questions you may have.

SHARE Uterine Support community includes women who are newly diagnosed, in treatment, or post treatment. Our support groups are made up of compassionate women who are willing to share their experiences and support other women with a uterine cancer diagnosis.

Please let us know how we can help.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy......just panicking at the moment. Think I will wait for fast tract hysterectomy to know the full prognosis....then will share. Positive vibes🤞

Hi there,

Best wishes for an easy recovery from your surgery. There is a lot of good information available to you on the SHARE Uterine Cancer site. But go easy, no need to absorb it all at once.

There is a support group for newly diagnosed patients. I see that you are in the UK, so I don’t know if the times work for you.

But mostly, breathe…there are many new treatments and studies - new, as in almost every week or month. So, breathe, you can do this.

Best wishes as you navigate the medical information, options, and healing. This cancer experience is a roller coaster ride of emotions and you will learn who your best supporters are both in the medical community and your personal world. There is no right way to act and it’s ok to put your own needs first. What helped me was making lists of questions to ask my providers and keeping written track of conversations and reports, as it is so easy to forget the details as they pile up. I even made a list of surgery and scan dates that I keep handy (in my phone) because every time I register for a new scan I am asked about these. If you are a support group kind of person, try that. If you prefer 1:1, seek out a mentor who has been through a similar experience or a social worker who will listen. Cancer is a scary, life changing event. You might feel dejected and pessimistic one day, but optimistic the next. Emotions are all over the place! There is no “right” way to live this new life so follow your gut and do what makes you comfortable. I wish you the best of medical care and a complete recovery.
