High CA125 and chronic gastritis

I’ve just been told I have CA125 of 235. First time I’ve been tested for it.

I have chronic gastritis and doudenitis due to an autoimmune condition.

Could this cause the elevation?

I’m so worried.

Yes it is possible that your illness is causing the elevation according to the oncologist I saw yesterday. CA125 is a marker for inflammation and can be triggered by all sorts of situations which is why it is not used commonly to screen for OC despite it being one of the indicators.

I do hope this is helpful, I hadn’t realised it either.

Thanks so much for that. I do have general high inflammatory markers anyway so that makes sense. I wish my doctor had told me this.

My doctor told me pretty much the same thing as Artgreens.
