Hi Smalltowngal , unfortunately I don't know much about this type of cancer, but I did a quick search and found this website that may be of help to you: gcsproject.org/. It chronicles some other patients who have been diagnosed, along with their experiences.

You can also call the SHARE Ovarian Cancer Helpine and speak to someone who might have more info: 866-537-4273

Hope this helps.

Hi Smalltowngal,

I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC GCS in January of this year. I am 49 years old. I had surgery and just recently finished 18 weeks of chemo - Carboplatin and Taxol on first day and Taxol only for the following 2 weeks and then repeat. My CA125 values are near zero now and scan is clear. Hoping remission lasts and in the meantime trying to live each day to the fullest. Thanks to Joann86 for the link to the GCS website - it is very informative and more importantly hopeful.

I was diagnosed with carcinosarcoma in March 2017 after a complete hysterectomy. I just finished round six of taxol/carboplatium. After round five, my CA125 is down to 99. I am scheduled for a CT scan the first week in August. I will see my doctor after the scan and next CA125. He will decide at that point if I will continue with more treatments. It is looking like I will have to take more treatments of just Taxol since you can only have so much carboplatium in your life time.

Thank you Joann for the information on this cancer. It was very helpful as well as I did not know anything about this cancer.
