Hi ladies. Hope you all doing fine. I do have a question regarding Ibrance and letrozole combo. My mom has been on that treatment for 13 months now and it’s been working for her. She was ok for couple of months at the beginning of treatment but recently she’s been experiencing different side effects, the worst side effect is constant feeling of pressure in her head and also fatigue, but head bothers her a lot. It’s not pain and she doesn’t feel dizzy or lightheaded it just constant pressure. She also has mild hypertension. Her last scan in January and blood work in March was ok.Does anyone else experiencing those symptoms as well?
Thank you
Saba

Hi ..l am on the same meds ..my head sometimes feels like the hair hurts ...like something is tight .. l take a tylone extra strength and in a a few hours it settles..l notice with me a bit of depression Keep Smiling
I don’t know if this is the same thing, but several of us have had sore scalps, like you had your hair in a tight pony tail and then took the hair band off. I had it more when I was on the 125 mg Ibrance dose and more rarely in the 100 mg dose. Tylenol helped.
The longer you’re on this medication combo, the more and weirder the side effects can be. But as long as it helps treat cancer, some of these side effects seem like minor inconveniences. Best wishes for relief for your mom.
To be honest I would be concerned about this feeling of pressure in her head. I don't think that is normal and I would seek the doctor's advice asap. That, to me, is very different to the sore scalp feeling, where if you brush your hair a certain way it is extremely tender.
She’s been having that since July 2021 and at that time we had head MRI,everything was normal. And it’s not scalp pain or tenderness. She also has lots of polyps in her nose, maybe those causing that pressure feeling. We will have blood work and doctor appointment next week. I will mention it to her again.
I dare say the polyps could be the cause. Like any time when you have inflamed swollen sinuses they can definitely give you that "head feeling full" sensation. I hope you can get some answers
I've been on this same combo since January 2018. About a year ago, I altered taking the medicine together. I was having terrible motion sickness and nausea. Now I take Letrozole in the morning and Ibrance in the evening. I spoke to my oncologist about this and she kind of pushed it off to circumstance, but I have seen an improvement. If I am going to be nauseous (the Ibrance was causing the issues), I may as well be horizontal!!! I work full time as a teacher and getting sick at school is not always an option. Good luck!!!
HiI am on the same meds..Feels like my head or hair hurts..l take extra strength tylone in bit it's gone...l am gentle when l shampoo and condition it no nails...Tired seems to be for alot on the same Medication...Rest when you feel tired ..Party when you don't
She got checked with ENT.,lots of polyps and allergy. He prescribed her budenoside atomiser which she used for a month she also has fluctuating blood pressure. Her maximum is 150-95 plus medication side effects. So it’s all might be connected. It’s really annoying having that pressure every single day. Some days better. I don’t know…
Ibrance and Letrozole was the first treatment I had when I was diagnosed metastatic breast cancer in August 2018. I found the most side effects which included excruciating cramps in my legs were all from letrozole . The Palbo combination tho kept things from progressing for 3 and a half years . I’m sorry to hear your mum is getting the head pain. I would investigate the side effects of both drugs. I have found that all cancer Medecine and I’m now on iv taxol to which I am getting severe allergic reaction , make you tired. I found that if you can, building someone sort of routine around the tiredness helps if you have the luxury of being able to do so. By the way , I did get mild scalp pain whilst on this combo but nothing as severe as you have described . Good bless you and hope they find a better solution for your mum xx
