I had an anaphylactic reaction, so they had to change me to abraxene.

hello! my body rejected it,(hypersensitivity reaction) so I was also changed to Abraxane.

I just finished 7 out of 12 Taxol ( other name Paclitaxel).

Before they start the taxol they administer I/v pepto bismo to prevent GI distress, steroids as well as Benadryl to prevent allergic reaction.

I have tolerated the chemo very well. Yes, you will lose your hair ( there are worse things than that) and yes, you will be fatigued for a few days. Other than that, I experience no other side effects at all. Every person reacts differently. Luckily I am a good example. I’m am 65 years old with no other health conditions other than MBC, ER +, PR+, HER2- . Was diagnosed September 2014, will be approaching my 7 year mark soon. Don‘t be afraid, dive right into it with a positive attitude that it is going to beat down the beast. Can‘ run away from it, so might as well face it.
