Leaky eyes
Ok so I ruled out everything , the on... - SHARE Metastatic ...
Ok so I ruled out everything , the only common drug we all are on that have leaky eyes is FASLODEX injections. Does anyone disagree?
Ibrance and Letrozol are my drugs and I have leaky eyes too. Mine could be age related as I am 75. Blessings, Hannah
No I don’t think it’s age related . So you don’t get injections in your tush ? Well that just ruined my experiment, lol thank you for answering . Xx
Nope and I never have. That is still down the road for me. Sorry. Blessings, Hannah
No I hope 🤞 it’s not down the road , The worst side effect I’m having personally is Leaky eyes. One lady made me feel silly saying I should be grateful that that’s the only side effect that I have and to deal with it. I’m a businesswoman and there’s water profusely leaking down my face I’m signing contracts with attorneys. It’s really getting frustrating because with Covid people are thinking I’m gross,I’m always wiping my face and my eyes because there’s actually water running down my cheeks out of my eyes. Not just a drip, a constant heavy leaking. Anyway let’s keep our fingers crossed that you’ll never have to get on this medication and you will stay stable. And by the way I am also stable, my last pet scan three weeks ago results said no sign of recurrence or metastatic disease, yay and in six months I do this all over again. Good luck to you and thank you for answering and if you ever have any questions just ask me. I had it all. Xx
It may still be falsodex. Mine is not that bad. It is possible mine is dry eyes from age and the rest of you is a side effect of falsodex. I use over the counter eye drops and it helps but mines don't pour. Best wishes. Blessings, Hannah
Sounds like my eyes are as bad as yours, I feel that I could water the garden with the volume of water dripping out. Its constant, used to happen only when windy or cold but now its constant. Make up is always streaky, cant wear any eye makeup or I end up looking like a pander with the black eyes
I get faslodex and Ibrance and no problem with eyes at all….. sorry
My eyes leak from Verzenio.
How do you know it’s the verzenio? Do you get FASLODEX injections?
Xeloda caused leaky eyes and equally leaky nose.😔
It seems to me that if you haven’t been to an ophthalmologist then it would be good to get an appointment. It could be the drug but there might be something else going on that an eye exam might uncover. They also might be able to suggest something that you can do. I’ve had a lot of problems with my eyes that I won’t bore you with but I’d suggest that for now, you take a warm cloth and rest it on your eyes for 10 minutes at least 4 times per day. Don’t give up looking for a an answer. It seems a pretty rotten side effect to me considering your job. Good luck Chris
I was on Faslodex for a year and no leaky eyes. My cousin who has no cancer had weeping eyes and bought Vitalux at the drugstore. Problem solved for her. Have you tried that? I think we are all different. Ask the pharmacist. They often know what works. Wishing you a solution soon.
Cheers, June S.
How did you find out it is Xeloda , are you getting FASLODEX injections ? Just out of curiosity, thanks
I am on Ibrance and Letrozole but not Faslodex and my eyes tear a lot but I don't constantly have water running down my face. I'm so sorry you experience that. I am glad you are stable though, that is good news.
Leaky eyes are usually dry eyes! Seems backwards, doesn't it! There are good OTC eye drops--ask your onc or pharmacist which one they recommend. Eye drops can make a big difference in your eye comfort.
I have been on Faslodex only since March of 2019. I have not had leaky eyes. I would see an ophthalmologist.
I take Ibrance and Letrozole 4 1/2 years now. Recently changed from Xgeva injections to Zometa infusion ever three months. Have had one so far. My eyes started watering about two years ago and they still are. I’ve seen eye doctor and tried drops, ointments, plugs, compresses, everything. Nothing works. Constantly wiping my eyes! I see eye doctor again in August.
I had sporadically very leaky eyes. Not all the time, but when I had it, it poured, mostly my left eye. Ophthalmologist said age, (72at the time) dry eyes, AND that I had a plugged tear duct, that would be very painful to fix, so live with it.
I now don't trust that fancy, specialized ophthalmologist. I went off both Ibrance and Faslodex injections and just noticed my eyes never run. I don't have to carry a tissue when I go out, and pull down my mask to dry my tears. So maybe it's is both Ibrance and Fulvestrant.
Yes, you are fortunate that you have no sign of progression, of mets, It is working for you. Side effect is very annoying. Better than pain and some others. There should be drops for wet eyes as they are for dry eyes. I used to pretend it wasn't happening, but it turns out people wondered. Thought I was crying quietly. I try to preempt: "medication side effect. Ignore it."
My doc said it is the Faslodex.
Grebnesie,
I *very much* admire how you're going about trying to solve this mystery!
I've been on Faslo + Ibrance for 3.75 years...Have had leaky eyes like you describe intermittently. Similar to TammyCross, I just usually say something like "I'm not crying, my eyes just do this sometimes..." or, depending on circumstances, make a bad joke.
I'm gathering from the responses that it is likely dry eyes, which are probably caused by the meds, so there is a connection. I had chalked it up to allergies or similar, but mostly I didn't really think about it.
Personally, I would try treating for dry eyes before seeing an ophthalmologist...who needs to see another white coat?
And as a former long-term businessperson, I'll suggest you go with the bad joke tactic with the attorneys.... Ive found that most have a good sense of humor and if they don't, well, their problem, not yours!
And I'm glad for your success with the treatment...
Lynn
I have had watery eyes on Xeloda. No eye problems while on faslodex, letrozole, or Ibrance.
So my experiment failed , lol 😂 I tried
Letrozol here....nonstop weepy eyes. Crusty mornings.
I am on Ibrance and Letrozole and my eyes drip, especially in the morning. Tears that roll down the face. I like to wear eye makeup but it ends up all down my face so I have stopped with it. As a result I am very pale with eyebrows that can hardly be seen and eye lashes that are hardly visible.
I had to scroll to the top of your post because I thought I reading my own . Lol we are twins from another mother . I too can’t wear makeup same reason , my eye brows? What are those , eyelashes short sparse stubs . What gets me so upset and a constant fatigue feeling is not only did this horrible metastatic breast cancer take my normal beauty lol away , seems it’s never going to give it back .
