That's the exact treatment I am on. Starting my 10 month next week. So far my tumors are stable. Oncologist said they will never shrink but hoping to keep them stable. How long for you?

I get scans every 3months and my next in March. Always a nervous wreck. Keep me posted. I feel so bad for some of the ladies and their side effects, mouth sores, hair loss. I only have fatigue and weight gain and brain confusion. I really love this forum, it has helped me a lot so far. I felt so alone even though I have a great support network, until you hear those awful words MBC you just can't understand. Lost my husband 7 years ago to hear and neck cancer. He was a laryingectomee and on a feeding tube. To me his was the worst. Best of luck to you.

Thank you. I wish you the best too. I'm a widow also! And I get really nervous about scans too. I know everyone here does too but we have each other to lean on. Thank God!

Hi Amitgarg27...Yes, I switched to that combo a few months ago, after Letrezole/Palbo seemed to be failing. I find it easier to tolerate, i.e. less fatigue, so I'm definitely happy in that regard. When I first switched, I was mildly unhappy about it, i.e. as a second line treatment it tends not to last as long as I would like it to, but I read a response on this board -- can't find it now, but the memory sustains me (!) -- from a woman who lasted NINE years on Fulvestrant! I also know a woman who is like eight years in. So, from what I can tell, it can be really good stuff! Best of luck with it...to both of us! :)

Hi Amitgar27,

Yes, I have been on Palbociclib (Ibrance) and Fulvestrant (Faslodex) for two years. Dose of 125mg Ibrance. My recent scan showed some minor progression after two years of reduction (if the first 6 months) and then no progression (in the following year and a half).

Is there a reason why you are asking for these exact things ? You seem to be asking for statistics and not how people really are.

Hello,

It seems to me that you may be on the wrong site. This site is for women (and men) who have metastatic breast cancer, looking for support, encouragement and advice. The nature of your posts seems to suggest that you are conducting research for personal gain for school, college or university. If so, then you would probably be better off checking out some other sites that will best suit your purpose.

Hello,

Please accept my apology. If you are not happy with what your wife's oncologist has said, it is a good idea to get a second opinion from another doctor. While it is beneficial to ask for advice on this site, what I and others say does not replace what a doctor has to say. We are all different, so what might work for one patient may prove harmful to someone else. That's why I often advise people to talk to their oncologist, oncology nurse or pharmacist if they need medical advice. Perhaps you can encourage your wife to join in some of the discussions on here. She might find it helpful to interact with others in the same situation as her.

All the best,

Sophie
