It would help if I knew more about the pain you're asking about.Personally, I had no pain, just a thickened area in one breast, but we each have our very own experience with bc! I wasn't diagnosed until the cancer had already spread to quite a few spots in my bones, spine, pelvis, a rib and shoulder blade. That means it was metastatic and usually not curable. I'd had my annual mammograms and even now it just never shows up but that is not the experience most have. I've been living with this stupid "terminal" breast cancer for 18 years and you'd never guess it if you saw me. The best advice I can give you is to call your gynecologist or primary care doctor and ask for an appointment soon so you can be examined and have help figuring this out! Until you can have that face to face with your doc, do your best to not blow this up and expect bad news. It's most likely not cancer but you need solid medical help to know. Let us know what you find out! And thank you for trusting us with this very personal info! Sending cyberhugs {{{HUG}}} and peaceful energy, Pam

Thank you I appreciate your response! I’m 42 no family history of breast cancer or any cancer for that matter… I have I hiatal hernia and GERD .. I have fibroid breast’s…which gives me anxiety.. my pain is kind of between my breasts slightly to the left side.. on the lower part… I have had cardiac ruled out and I am terrified to have a mammogram. I’m worried if over treatment and false positives and negatives honestly..like in your case your cancer didn’t show on the mammogram it seems .. I have dense breasts and some studies show mammograms miss 40 % of cancer on mammograms .. I may do thermography. It’s all so stressful.. as soon as I turned 40 I feel like I started falling apart .. I had a abdominal hernia that caused a bowel obstruction and I had to have that fixed then pelvic floor is failing .. I developed anemia ( from omniprazole over use ) and PVC’s ( heart palpitations) I feel I have now developed health anxiety! The dr’s were not much help for any of these issues .. I self diagnosed my hernia and I requested the tests and yep I was right … same with the anemia and PVCS . So now with this pain I get on and off I don’t know if it’s coming from the Haitian hernia and GERD or if it’s breast cancer or just my fibroids. I just feel like a mess and I have lost confidence in the medical system.

18 years!! That’s amazing! Praying for you to have 18 more💛

Hello. No, it was just finding a slug like lump one night in bed after thinking "I really ought to check my breasts more!". I've had a cyst before and that was painful if lying on it... and a friend had mastitis years ago and that was awful. There are tons of websites for you to check this however - just pop in "is pain a symptom of breast cancer?". If you have a lump and aren't sure - PLEASE go to your GP for a check ASAP. Don't wait. Try not to worry.. but doing nothing whilst wondering isn't (IMHO) a way forward. Good to know one way or the other and the only route is the GP. If you have a lump, they'll prioritise you. I hope this helps. All the best. D

My first sign was pain. Same spot. Noticed lump a few months after the pain. I was told most likely due to the aggressiveness of my tumor. Growing so fast it was causing damage. Had a clear mammogram 6 months prior to diagnosis.
