The ECG\EKG is a recording of the electrical signal from the heart and gives a lot of information about how well it is performing. It can tell us if the heart is beating regularly and in normal (sinus) rhythm, or irregular.

An ECG can tell us if the heart is beating at an appropriate rate (too slow/too fast or irregular), and for trained specialists such as cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses or cardiac physiologists, it can provide lots more information about how well the heart is performing and indicate any possible problems.
