This woman wrote ths article 5 years ago, but there are lots more recent ones, etc. She says she is being funny, but I find nothing funny when you call people with RLS "stupid", and then after you say "kidding!!" Nowhere in her pages does it say her articles or columns are in the "humor category". Read stuff like this, get mad with indignation, and write emails, and fill out questionnaires and surveys. the more work we do for awareness is the day idiots like this woman will stop writing her drivel. She even admits in a followup article that she was "shocked" at the hate mail. so, if this makes you mad or sad or both or homicidal, then do your part for this group and help raise awareness to stop this crap. That is the only thing that will work.
jewishworldreview.com/0807/... I am not sending this in for you to email her, but to read it and get mad and active! comments are not allowed on her pages, or that whole web site, but you can email them. It IS 5 yrs old, but I do plan on emailing her to ask her what she thinks of RLS 5 yrs later???? And, see Daragh's posts (RLS-UK Chair) and get to work with that survey/questionnaire.......PLEASE. Get mad and get to work.

I have gotten mad at a few aroticles already. I wrote to one plus the newspaper and others must have also. He was taken out of some newspapers. I havent' heard too much negative lately. Seems more people are aware it is a problem. I sometimes wonder when a dr realizes a person has more than a slight case. Guess mine must and I see neurologist again on Monday. Hope he does something as I did give the change in meds time.
I wish you well with your neurologist. There is more awareness of it as previously there were no licensed meds to treat it. It is still a massive problem with your ordinary doctor who is your first point of contact and can be just as difficult with a neurologist. They just dismiss it. It can range from mild, to not every day, to relentless. I see my neurologist soon and I will be pushing them and taking a long material. It worked at my practise recently after requesting a same day appointment for the first time in years and being denied one. I took some anonymous items from this site! It could be a good idea to perhaps consider this mmm66. Also be determined and don't let them dismiss it. What articles are you referring to and what did they say?
I have had a look but it must be me as I can't see anything. The only thing I read a few years ago now in the Mail Ibelieve was that 4mg of reqiup was the cure for RLS. My questionnaire has been filled in and sent back. It only takes minutes.
Nightdancer the link isnt taking us to the article.....but i agree with you wholeheartedly.
We need to get mad and proactive and help ourselves to get better respect from doctors, media and people in general. The more we do as a whole unit the more can get done regarding this condition.
Can you fix the link so we can all read it and get mad at the article and then have more RLSers get that questionaire out...
hmmmmm........well, go to the web site jewishworldreview.com The web site has every radical columnist on there, but search the list of columnists for Celia Rivenbark, click on her name, and look for "What is the latest syndrome?" something like that. The are all listed in red. It was from 5 YEARS ago when Requip was first on TV, so you can imagine how funny she thinks she's being. In the reply article she writes that is about hate mail, she says she is "not a responsible journalist and therefore that excludes her from having to do research" and I am paraphrasing, but that is close. The word "stupid" is NOT funny, no matter how many tmes you "say" you are "kidding". I wasn;t laughing. Anyway, she really is insulting, worse than that New Jersey columnist we had a few months ago that was current. If you feel so led to want to contact her, which it would do nothing now, except maybe another idiotic column, which we do not need, but you click on contact and it takes you right to her email, there is no place for comments. The things we find!
