I, too, take them through the day but stick to the 4mg daily dosage. If necessary I take one at midday, one at six o'clock and TWOat night. I have had at least 7 hours sleep most nights. I'm only praying it will work at least for a while. Good luch to everyone else. I have had this for 30 years and was almost beside myselg.
thanks for your note on Rapinerole , I wish I could get 7hours sleep as the most I get is 3 then up to the toilet then another 2 or 3 hours ,I find I go to the toilet quite often through the day as well, perhaps its the other Tablets I take like the water tablets Furisamide. all the best
A lot of you just talk about the twitching of legs. I also get that but not much. I do get severe pain that last for about 5/10 minutes and this can go on for 3/4 hours and sometimes has me in tears. So does anybody else suffer this much or have you done and found something that helps.
Depending on how long you have been on the ropinerole. You could be experiencing augementation, not that you need more dopamine. When was the last time you had to take more ropinerole. Augmentation, is when the medication doesnt work so well and you have to up the dose to get the same relief., then that works for a while then you have to up the dose again.
I have been on Ropinerole for about 2 years I used to take 4 but over a period of time Iv'e found that in 24hours if I take 5 which controls it much better which i have used for the last 5 months with no problems to date (fingers crossed)
I believe that Dr Buchfuhrer on his web site states that 4mg is the maximum. As this would not be sufficient to cover my 24/7 symptoms I supplement with tramadol and the occasional codeine.
Hi jumpylegs thanks for the comment Iv'e not heard of any supplements that replace the shortage of Dopermine in the brain as I understand thats where it controls the need to stop the twitching
When I say I supplement with tramadol and codeine, I mean that I take them as well as the ropinerole. Tramadol and codeine are lower end opiates and opiates are excellent for controlling rls symptoms.
Just a word of caution, Vitacalm has been discussed on the forum previously and it is generally thought that it is of little or no benefit. People have also had little luck establishing what is in the product and Vitacalm have some quite aggressive selling techniques which have also annoyed people!
Hi harecatcher , thanks for the comment, I'm thinking of trying take my ropinerole in the evening as I get drowsy during the day. Let you know when Iv'e tried it.
