Hello, I have suffered with RLS since being a child. Since taking citralopram for depression (which has been great!) my RLS has got much worse. My GP put me on pramipexole .125mg a day (evening). I have just started it, and it helps a little but when I read the side effects I got freak out, especially when it talks about augmentation, im really scared about the symptoms becoming worse. Also I feel a little spaced out the next day... does anyone have any experience they can share of using pramipexole?

concerns about pramipexole and augmentation...
hi, yes ,im using it now, have been for around 18 months , so far its been the best med for me. I have used Ropinerole, and that was a horrid med, made me so nausous, and got really bad augmentation with it, ive also used Gabapentin, but that didnt help me much. We all react differently to the meds, and the only way we can know, is to give them a try. I take the prolonged release type, is that what you take, mine is one a night, 1.05 mgs, and it works great, One other thing, i do know that a lot of antidepressants actually aggravate RLS, and make it lots worse, i wouldnt take any myself, just to be on the safe side, so maybe is that making your RLS worse.

thanks for your reply!! good to hear you are having a positive experience on it... yes the anit-depressant definitly increased RLS symptons, but it was such a god send with my mood, since taking it I feel like a veil has been lifted... talk about a rock and a hard place.... !
The Celexa is an SSRI antidepressant, which is one of the anti-d's that can cause RLS or make it worse. also, the tricyclic anti-d's. rlshelp.org is the best place to go on the treatment page, for" Drugs and Foods to avoid". It is hard when dealing with medicating RLS and depression. I have been thru several myself until I found one that worked for me, and does not bother my RLS. It is all trial and error, but if you were not taking the Celexa, you may not have to take the pramipexole. Talk this over with your doctors and see if something can get changed around, so you don't end up on the med "go round".
