Have been taking 75mg Pregabalin nightly for about 6 weeks now & have mixed results.I have been spoilt with a few nights of completely undisturbed sleep which is so rare but absolutely brilliant BUT the nights in between have been torturous as usual with raging RL & back & arms.

I also feel very dizzy & heavy headed especially in morning so assume they are side effects although am aware am on very small dosage of Pregabalin.

Do you think I should stop taking them now as nit been on them too long or keep on with them in the hope it will settle down?

Am hoping to talk to my hospital specialist but it will be a while getting hold of her so would be grateful for any advice.

The reason you are still having some bad nights is you are just on a starting dose. As I mentioned to you before you can try switching to gabapentin.

For sleepiness in the morning if it is really bothering you, you could take ritalin or adderal. It might even help your dizziness although that is just a guess. It will wear off by night.

I have a little dizziness in the morning and I find drinking my coffee first thing helps and I consider it a small price to pay for it controlling my RLS and being able to sleep at night.

I’ve been taking 450gm pregabolin now for about 2 years now. At first the sleep was hit and miss, but generally is very good now. Yes, dry mouth and constipation, but the morning drowsiness is a plus for me. I’m 75 and love that I can enjoy it! I would like to try buprenorphine to free myself of breakthrough RLS, but until that opportunity arises I’m happy with the pregabolin.

75mg is a very low dose. If the dizziness isn't a safety risk for you, you could try gradually increasing by 25mg until you find a dose that works consistently well.

Am now on 100mg Pregabalin & the heavy headiness has gone & am able to sleep uninterrupted 3/7 nights & the rest I am waking much earlier than normal & can't get back to sleep but the RL symptoms are not as severe but still not disappeared -is this the normal way of things on this dosage level or should I steadily step up the dosage of 25mg incrementally ??
