Gabapentin

HI,

I read that Gabapentin can cause tooth rotting from the inside.

Is this a known problem??

Gabapentin causes dry mouth which can lead to tooth decay however tooth decay is very rare and I have not heard anyone on the forum mention this so I wouldn't worry about it.

Anecdotally I had weird tooth issues on it. Read that it alters your minerals (I’m not a health care professional of any type - just a layperson). Have been completely off about 8 months and have had 2 perfect checkups with no problems. My hair is growing like crazy too.

I've been on Gabapentin since 2015 - no problems with my teeth (and I'm on 2100 mg day)

I have heard of a few cases of people having teeth issues on gabapentinoids however these appear to be a minority of users.

My big problem with gabapentin is sleepiness. Every day I just fall asleep in the afternoon a couple of times if I sit to watch tv. I am always tired in the afternoon and evening wanting to take a nap. My dr. put me down to 300 mg to see if that helps. If not I am considering going off of it.
