A salutary story in the MS-UK Magazine about Gambling Addiction caused by Ropinirole.I will add the other pages as comments below.

This man lost over £100,000 on a gambling addiction caused by Ropinirole. He has successfully sued the NHS.

He also tried to end his life because of these drugs and the article does contain a warning.

That’s quite something. I have to say that when I started on HRT I became very obsessed with shopping and especially at night. I had just inherited money from my dad. While I don’t regret most of my purchases, it’s clear to me now that oestrogen set off some dopamine in the beginning of the treatment, and I stupidly went up dose wise quite voluntarily. I’m now off it as I suspected that it was worsening RLS and also induced increased day time tiredness, but I can see some similar tendencies with the opioids. I bought a massive wheelbarrow the other night that doesn’t fit through any spaces in my garden. Just a stupid mistake I shouldn’t have done when I couldn’t sleep, money unwisely spent.

Yes, it's terrifying. Anything that affects dopamine can cause 'addictive' tendencies.

I was lucky that I didn't experience ICD on 4mg of Ropinirole for 10 years, and, so far, I've had no problems on low dose Buprenorphine.

The Dopamine Agonists seem to cause more ICD than other drugs. Rates are high.

Very salutary indeed.

Thanks for the heads up!

Good one.👍💚

Thanks Joolsg, what a dreadful story Ropinirole is a pernicious drug and I’m so pleased he successfully sued the NHS. Like the 60s protest song says, when will they ever learn, when will they ever learn.
