Update after stopping sertraline

Just an update. I posted here a few weeks ago. RLS had got worse and I have needed escalating doses of ropinorole . I’m 51 yo and have had RLS in pregnancy and it resurfaced in the past 5-7 years, in perimenopause. My mood symptoms were incorrectly diagnosed as anxiety, rather than being part of perimenopause and I had been started on sertraline when it should have been HRT.

I managed to taper off ropinorole and at the same time I tapered off sertraline. I had only been using 50mg sertraline - a fairly low dose. I can honestly say that sertraline was a huge contributor to my worsening symptoms. Since stopping sertraline I have only had RLS once- this was after I walked 22k steps in a day (twice my normal) I continue on oestrogen HRT and I haven’t needed pregabalin. Feeling hopeful. Still using 12.5- 25 mg quetiapine at night to assist sleep with no RLS

Glad to hear you have been able to get to the point you are at today and hope your success is long lived. I do envy you though as HRT is a major trigger for me.
