I looked into this years ago, before Covid. There were some concerns about the donee developing donor issues. You would need to ensure that the donor is chosen well and is fit, healthy, with good health and a healthy gut microbiome.

You're right, a good donor is critical. The clinic that i'm considering says that they test approximately 1000 people in order to get just one donor that they can use (they have a total of two on their books).

There are many unknowns still, although much of the literature refers to FMT as a relatively safe procedure.
