I have other issues besides RLS and have to be very careful as it takes very little to trigger my RLS. I was prescribed zanaflex for several things...
Will it affect my RLS?
Thanks

Tizanidine (Tizagelan, Zanaflex): I've only found one post, from 6 years ago, mentioning the brand Zanaflex - and one person then speculated that it would 'probably' made RLS worse. But since then the generic name tizanidine has been queried a few times - most recently SueJohnson said it's safe and I was unable to find any adverse reports.
In the UK its prescribed as a muscle relaxant as in the US, but I note that in the US it can also be prescribed off label for migraine, insomnia and as an anti-convulsant. I can't see any interactions listed with sumatriptan (Imitrex, Treximet).
I don't know what I have changed but my RLS have disappeared almost completely. I haven't changed my diet, though I eat very little during the day, I haven't changed my medication, though I do take medication for hypertension and Urbanol and Serdeb for anxiety. However I do try to take short walks everyday, maybe the latter is the reason??? Good luck to you. ❤️
