Pregabalin vs. Baclofen (PLMD without RLS)

Hi, I have PLMD without RLS.

I am currently taking 75mg of Pregabalin and I can sleep but I am having brain fog the next day. I am planning on taking it for a few weeks to see if the side effect goes away.

In the meantime, I did some reading and found out Baclofen, a muscle relaxer, can also help with PLMD without RLS?

Is anyone taking this med for PLMD without RLS?

If yes, can you share your experiences?

Thank you

Wait a minute, you’re only 35. And the PLMD only started a few months ago. Did anything change a few months ago? New medication ie antihistamines, antacids, steroids/testosterone? Did you get Covid or a sports injury? Based on your high ferritin - pre-infusion - I’m gonna guess some type of systemic inflammatory/infectious condition is possibly going on? I use the word systemic to exclude things like an infected cut on your hand or swollen nasal passages from a high pollen count. These types of minor conditions are unlikely to provoke PLMD. Infections or inflammatory conditions that are more widespread are more likely to provoke symptoms and raise ferritin.

There's two things that I suspect could've led to my PLMD.

1)

Two months prior to onset of my PLMD, I had prostatitis (I have chronic prostatitis) that was left untreated for almost 12 days because I was on a business trip abroad. I also sat through a 14 hour flight that worsened the inflammation in the prostate. I had trouble peeing the night of the flight from the inflammed prostate.

2)

One month prior to onset of my PLMD, I had a very strong massage on my spine, that hurt my back for a couple of days. I also did some mountain climbing a few days later where I felt the pain on my back as well.

What is your opinion? Which do you think could have had led to my PLMD?

I understand inflammation and/or spinal injury could be the reason for onset of PLMD.

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Do you have chronic back pain as well or sciatica? If not, then I don’t think it’s your back. Chronic prostatitis, which is an infection, sounds like something that could elevate “hepcidin” and raise ferritin, but also reduce serum iron. It would be good to get a handle on the prostatitis.

That drug baclofen absolutely drove my entire body crazy it was like having restless leg syndrome from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. It was outrageous. I personally will never go near that drug.💜
