Hi everyone,A few days ago I realized that the tomato I am eating in the morning gives me RLS symptoms a few minutes later. I tried to stop eating for a few days. I realized I am so much better. Even I am not getting muscle pain, sores, and...
I started tomato again. The same pain came back. Even the whole day. Even if the tomato is in the food as a paste, I will experience muscle sore symptoms.
Does anyone of you have experienced this?

Yes- I find tomato based foods rather indigestible. Not sure that I get RLS, but then I'm on a good dose of opioid which must mask quite a few triggers.
Thanks, ShumbahI saw the video. I guess you are right. I need to consider avoiding these to find out what is exactly causing this.
Dr., Gundry also mentioned trying to eat refined rice and white bread instead of whole meals. I think that high sugar in my body is one of the reasons for RLS. I believe high RLS suffering comes from having refined rice and white bread. What Dr., Gundru says contradicts my understanding.
It could be because of lectins but why would you expect tomato to have a different effect just because it is in a paste form? The way to find out is to avoid all fooods containing lectins. Of coure it could be be because tomato is in the nightshade family of plants so as another experiment avoid all nightshade plants and see if your symptoms reduce.
You could hve other causes so some symptoms may still perist although not as severe but you'll probably be able to pin the next food down easier after identifying tomato as a cause and avoiding them.
Interesting. A few years ago when I was starting my research for my own health issues I found an elimination and reintroduction diet sheet for autoimmunity by Datis Kharrazian. He says that nightshades should be the last thing that you try to reintroduce and I quote:
'....because they are the most common food intolerance for those with autoimmune conditions, and if you have an inflammatory reaction, it takes longer to calm down and continue with reintroduction. Be sure to reintroduce one vegetable at a time. You might react to all, or only to some.'
He also suggests considering never eating tomatoes.
I already had some doubts about some nightshades suiting me, but I adore tomatoes, so although I had stopped eating all nightshades for a few years, I have this summer had two or three small fresh tomatoes on three occasions, and every time I have had quite obvious additional joint pain, which settles to manageable after a few days. Not restless legs, I seem to have managed to get rid of that (prior to the nightshade experiment but after quitting gluten and improving B12 and folate), but a reaction nonetheless. So I shall try to avoid the temptation. Restless legs often occurs as a symptom of autoimmunity, whether diagnosed or not, so who knows. I do have autoimmune conditions and a long family history of vit B12 and folate dysfunction.
I get the same thing, I love tomatoes but after looking at a fact sheet on glutemate - it showed them, cheese and soy based products as triggers. Anyway dropped tomato based products, cheese (which is difficult when it's in my favourite food in lasagne etc) and too much soy, and it has made a difference - I used to love tacos but again they were triggers. Never thought it could make such a difference !
