Just wondering if my RLS is uses are due to my mother being an alcoholic and drinking alcohol during pregnancy. Just a thought 🤔....!?

While it is known that alcohol in pregnancy can damage the foetus, my siblings and I inherited RLS from my mother and she hardly ever drank alcohol at any time

Nope. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can do a lot of things but that is not one of them.

I don't believe that one can provide a definitive answer to your question.

Alcohol can deplete the body of essential micronutrients and impair brain development in the fetus.

So, indirectly it may have had an effect.

Taking it a step further, studies have shown that the diet of grandparents can have an impact on the health outcomes of their grandchildren.

However, given that many people who have RLS have or had mothers who did not drink in pregnancy (my own mother was teetotal), I would not give any significant weight to that as the probable cause.
