Gabapentin

Just an update on taking gabapentin for several months after several years of ropinerole. My RLS in early/late evening has gone except for episodes sometimes at about 2 to 3 am but manageable. My sleep has improved also but I don't feel sleepy until about 2am or later but I seem to get a better quality sleep. I take 1200mg split into two 600mg doses but experimenting with timings, this week I will take 600mg at 9pm then 600mg at 11pm, previously it was at 10pm and 12pm but I wonder if taking gabapentin at 10pm and 12pm is too late will not induce sleep till later at night. No doubt in my mind that gabapentin works for me so anyone on ropinerole should seriously consider gabapentin instead.

I must admit, I have been using Neupro for my RLS and have worked great for a year however just lately (and since I've had the Moderna Vaccine) my RLS has become worse. I fear that I am now getting augmentation from Neupro. As a result, I have introduced Gabapentin to my regime and I have definitely noticed an improvement. I take roughly 1200mg - 1800mg a day however I am still working on my timings. My quality of sleep has definitely improved as well.

That's great that it is working. You might want to increase your gabapentin to get rid of the RLS you sometimes get at 2 am. The usual advise is to take it 1 to 2 hours before bedtime. If you still have problems falling asleep you might want to ask your doctor for ativan or xanax.
