I haven’t been very involved over the last few months. I haven’t seen anything from Elfindoe, hope they’re ok?

Elffindoe/ Manerva hasn't written for quite some time, but Elfindoe's account is still 'on', otherwise it would appear as 'Hidden'. I had been in contact with him through pms earlier, and sent several a while ago, but he didn't respond. I also had been in touch with him through email, to send him some full length papers on RLS of which he could only access the summaries. I also emailed him on this address, but he never replied.

I know he had a severe illness, and I fear he has deteriorated or even died. I am afraid there is no way of finding out. I haven't gotten around to asking Kaarina, our moderator, whether she knows how to reach people. He was a great help during the time he was active on this forum. I hope he is well, but as written above, I fear...

From what you're reporting ,it doesn't look good.

It is a problem with social media accounts, that when anyone dies, there is no real way of finalising their account.

Facebook,Twitter etc -- all the same.

I miss Manerva and his intensive research.

I also miss Raffs for his ascerbic wit.

But the show goes on, different personalities come forward. The world still spins.

I miss Raffs too. His account was closed. I have no idea why, nothing to go on from his posts or replies or personal messages. I regularly think about him when I take kratom, he generously shared his experiences and knowledge about it. I still owe him for that.

Please let us know if you hear anything further. Manerva was a lifesaver to me, when I first started down the "dark hole" and I am distraught to think that something might have happened!

Thanks for asking this question Lapserunner. I too have wondered what happened to him and am deeply saddened if he has died. He was an inspiration to me when I first came on this forum three years ago and with the other 'oldies'; you all included, was helped enormously by his posts. If he is still around, maybe he will read these posts and know how valuable his help has been. If not, we are all better for having had the benefits of his wisdom.

As LotteM says, fresh voices and minds come to the forum and thank goodness for them.

Perhaps it's a useful point for us to give someone the job of closing off our social media sites after we no longer use them.
