Probably, unless your RLS is very mild. You can try taking 1/8 to 1/4 of a 15 mg tablet. If it ramps up your RLS you don’t take it again. And yes, I believe that if taken day in day out, even at this low dose, it will bring your anxiety/vibrational level down a notch. I believe trazodone is even more sedating and once again I recommend 1/8 to 1/4 of a 50mg tablet of trazodone. It will knock you out and will not provoke symptoms of RLS.

My journey has been a long one.

I was on mitazipine for while. Unbeknown to me it worse making my RLS worse then they needed to be. I stopped and initially RLS settled then started to return.

I’ve come a long way since then , Ropinrole, augmentation, withdraw from DA and now coming off all antidepressants ( on 5 at the same time) now on none. Which did help to improve my RLS (not so much my insomnia and MDD).

I heard on here same per your theory.

Taking Mitazipine or trazodone at high does making it anti - anxiety (more risk of worsening RLS ) and taking it at very low dose making it very sedating.

Havnt tried mitazipine as yet again, but did try trazodone at 12.5mg. And omg was it sedating. However it was short lived as I stated having breathing difficulties.

Yep, ya gotta try a ridiculously low dose of the mirtazapine if you’re still suffering with the insomnia.

It's in the list of meds that worsen RLS. Your doctor should consider gabapentin or pregabalin to help sleep and reduce anxiety and also reduce RLS. A low dose alongside other RLS meds is useful.Show your doctor the Mayo algorithm. It makes clear that anti depressants worsen RLS .

I had the worst evening EVER when I took one tablet of Mirtazipine. Sorry, I don't remember the dose but it was as low as you can get in one tablet. I never took another one!

Is your RLS under control?

Yes Sue thank you. About 95% controlled with buprenorphine patches. I've tried most things known to man and finally thanks to Shumba, asked my GP if I could try buprenorphine. As it's so difficult to get the tablets, he was more than happy to let me try the patches and I've now been on them for 2 years. Some side effects and other issues but managing those.

I took it for long time 7.5 mg it wasn’t a problem but as soon as they increase to 15 mg the RLS started and even now that I not longer taking the RLS hasn’t gone away and the dr told me that RLS was a side effect and for anxiety and insomnia mine is chronic so it was just some help
