Tried the advice of Medical Medium Anthony William, who claims that RLS and all other similar neurological issues are manifestations of the Epstein-Barr virus. His advice is to avoid dairy, wheat, fermented foods, salt, pork, fish and seafood, and all fatty food. Very low fat and protein. Diet consists of almost entirely fruits and vegetables. Potatoes and oats are okay, with some lean organic meat.
This didn't help me. The insane amount of fiber made it much worse.

Hmm, interesting. I have had a positive EBV test for past infection but I don't know exactly when I had it. I think though, it was during high school or college as I had times of unexplained fatigue and got quite a few cold viruses during that time. My RLS started at age 22 right after I graduated college. I think dietary changes help "some" but not all unfortunately.
The Medical Medium has his fans and just as many critics. For the uninitiated...
Anthony William Coviello, known professionally as Anthony William or the Medical Medium, is a self-proclaimed medium who offers pseudoscientific medical and health advice based on alleged communication with a Spirit. William believes that the Epstein-Barr virus is responsible for multiple ailments, including cancer. He claims to be the originator of the lemon juice in water morning detox as well as the celery juice fad, which he states can offer many health benefits. Critics allege that he is practicing medicine without a license and that he has, at times, improperly solicited positive Amazon reviews for his books.
Thanks for reporting. He also claims that daily intake of celery juice should be the miracle remedy against almost everything. I am trying almost everything because I am so desperate. So I am in my 2nd week of daily juicing and I can’t feel any changes so far. I do not follow all his other strict food recommendations. So I’m still hoping the celery juice will to it. Never try never know. Thank you for sharing your experience.
So… My celery juicing already came to an abrupt end. I realized that my skin became super photosensitive. My age spots in my face became much darker the last two weeks even though I wasn’t much sun exposed. I don’t want to pay this price. This is quite sad for me because I think that the juicing really did some good stuff to my body. As an alternative Williams suggests to drink cucumber juice. I will start doing this now. If it doesn’t help against my restless legs it will still help me drink less coffee and just feel healthier.
Unless he started spouting off about Celery Juice 35 years ago, I doubt he started it. I had a weight lifting coach in college in the early 80’s who was also into celery juice. He brought some for the whole class, we only got about 4oz each to keep us from feeling ill. The guy is still at the same college teaching the same stuff (inversion training was another) Thanks for the memories.
Regarding mononucleosis/Epstein-Barr (EB). As I understand what my GP and sleep scientist mentioned, there seems to be two things at play here.
1) People suffering from a lack of sleep blood test will consistently show low level of white blood cells. This is simply because we lack sleep and our immune system suffers. Therefore, we often have enduring symptoms similar to colds, mononucleosis or chronic fatigue syndrome.
2) EB tests have two dimensions. They whether or not if you got the disease at one time or another. The vast majority of the population will test positive. Second, they show if you recently had it. Two years ago, during a pretty bad RLS induced lack of sleep period, I tested positive on both during a blood test. A month later, a second test showed negative for the "recent" part. My theory is RLS sufferers can can suffer from long-term EB cycles simply because our immune system is terrible.
I tried juicing a few years ago, and while it didn't help my RLS, I found that carrot juice helped my eczema. It tastes terrible, but when mixed with apple juice it is tolerable. The change in my diet that has helped the most is minimizing food additives, particularly monosodium glutamate. It's difficult, since it is hidden under so many names (Google "names for MSG"). It hasn't cured the RLS, but it has made it more tolerable.
