restless legs and time changes

My restless legs start motoring around 2100 every night.

After i take my pregabalin plus my clonazepan i get bouts of sleep.I go to bed around 2230 ,walk around 0100, then again at 0300 and sometimes again between 0500 and 0600

If I go abroad then there will often be a time difference with UK. ie Dubai is 3 hours in front of us and the US East Coast is 5 hours behind us.

Anyone know how does this time change might effect the timings of when my legs will want to walk?

At first your legs will want to walk at the UK time they usally want to walk, that is 3 hours earlier Dubai time.

However, this should adjust itself over a matter of 3 to 4 days.

This is because RLS is sleep related and sleep is a circadian rhythm. The time at which we "normally" sleep is regulated by exposure to daylight. Since dawn and dusk will be at different LOCAL times to UK time your circadian rhythms should automatically adjust.

You coulo further help them adjust by deliberately exposing yourself to daylight during the (local) day and avoiding light in the (local) evening. E.g. dim lighting. draw curtains and avoid using backlit devices in the evening.

It also depends on how satisfied you are with the current level of control you have with your RLS/insomnia.

Perhaps you need to review your treatment plan, it doesn't appear to be working too well.

Also be aware that if you have RLS AND insomnia, the insomnbia isn't necessarily netirely due to the RLS. People with NO RLS can suffer insomnia.
