I take 1500 mg at night divided into 2 doses. 5 days after increasing it to that, I got restless legs again. So I took 300 mg at 5:15, 600 mg at 7:15 and 600 mg at 9:15 and this worked !!!

Hello, MS Sue, I was asked to perhaps drop by and share some of my experiences with RLS and my use of Gabapentin (Neurontin). For starters, I was not prescribed Gabapentin for use for my RLS. (I have MS & my neurologistprescribes it for me.) I suffer horribly with RLS so I emphasize with you. And, when I tell you how much I take daily (of Gabapentin) 1800mg (& this was cut back from 2700 my because of an illness where my weight dropped to 80lbs & I’m 6’tall!) I have never experienced any side-effects & it usually handles my arthritis (pain) in my neck & spine (Where I also have lesions [MS related]). But, before you start “playing “ with your disease of ANY medication it’s always best to consult your prescribing Doctor. And, all members here, we love sharing our experiences & support BUT we are not Doctors (Nor suppose to act as one.) We’re here to try to support each other. 🤫🤭🤔🤗

Hi, Sue, I found this post of yours - I know it is 2 years old - but I was wondering if you had continued with this way of taking 1500mg of Gabapentin or whether you found it didn't work after all. I have been taking your advice over the last few months, am on 1600mg of Gabapentin a day now, and am seeing how it works. Maybe 2 hour gaps between the doses are just not enough, I don't know. So far, though, things look good, my night-time PLMs have more or less disappeared.

Yes - it still works. 2 hour gaps should be enough.
