I've been on Ropinirole for 4 years and (touchwood) haven't had any augmentation. A week ago I was prescribed Gabapentin for an entirely unrelated condition - I've damaged a nerve in my foot. So I'm now taking both. It's been a mixed blessing so far! From about the 4th night onwards I've had the most blissfully RLS free nights in years! The downside is I feel debilitatingly tired and dizzy all the time, to the extent I'm going to discuss it with my doctor.
Has anyone else taken both these at the same time? Is it to be avoided? Could they interact badly or make augmentation more likely?

They do not interact. Gabapentin is less likely to cause augmentation than ropinirole.
The initial side effects of drowsiness and dizziness are normal and usually subside within a few weeks.
How strong the side effects are depend on what dose you're taking. The usual starting dose is 300mg a day. It's then built up in steps of 300mg. Starting on the full dose straight away will increase side effects at first.
For RLS only it's only taken once a day, at night. Taking it during the day will cause the drowsiness during the day until you get used to it.
