Hi, I was wondering if anyone’s RLS seems to be worse when wearing shorts or when your legs are kind of exposed for a while? I really can’t tell if it’s in my head or if that makes a difference

I haven't noticed my RLS reacting to exposed legs. It might be because you have neuropathy, so the cold/wind on thr legs then triggers an RLS episode. There will be others who experience similar weird triggers, I'm sure.
Thank you! I’m 21 and diagnosed with RLS but they did want to test for neuropathy. This was very helpful
As you're so young it may be linked to low iron so ask for full panel bloods and ensure serum ferritin is above 100. Ask for the actual numbers, as they'll tell you your results are normal if ferritin is above 15 but for RLS it needs to be above 100.Also check any meds that might be triggering it like anti depressants, anti histamines and proton pump inhibitors. Keep a food and drink diary in case diet is a culprit.
I’ve been down a bunch of avenues including iron and blood work. Ferritin was 103 as of December It’s idiopathic as far as they know but could be due to inflammation. I had some GI issues so I’m currently trying to stick to a low inflammatory diet to see if that helps. Thank you so much for your help
