I have taken Sifrol for over 2years and it still works. I am on 1.05 plus 2x0.18 and have no side effects at all.

I am able to sleep most nights, occasionally my rls creeps up on me but l can put up with that, mostly I'm ok.

for the past 2weeks l have had no rls at all so I'm a very happy bunny.

I have been told that rls will disappear without any reason, l hope that this is what has happened in my case.

Hi, it's great to hear that the sifrol is being so effective for you. I remember from my own first experience of taking pramipexole how apparently miraculous it can be.

I'm sorry to say that your RLS has most likely "disappeared" because you're taking sifrol, it works!

You may find that if you miss a dose, it hasn't disappeared, it is just under control. I'm not suggesting you try it.

I hope whoever prescribed you the sifrol warned you about the major complications that can be caused by this drug. These are Impulse Control Disorder and Dopaminergic Augmentation.

Not everybody suffers these but the risk of augmentation is very high. Forewarned is forarmed however, so I suggest you read sbout these two and if either should start to occur then you'll know what's happening. I didn't and suffered unnecessarily.

The risk is higher, the more you're taking so I see you are taking two 0.18mg tablets which is an immediate release tablet, I believe - total 0.36mg.

You're also taking 1.05mg which is a prolonged release version. I believe this is equivalent to about 0.7 mg of immediate release. This appears to be a daily total then of about 1.06mg.

I may be wrong as using the prolonged release version for RLS is a little unusual.

The maximum recommended daily dose of sifrol for RLS is 0.54mg which puts you at high risk of augmentation. Twice the maximum.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's also for the sake of other readers.

I hope the sifrol continues to work for you for some time. I wouldn't give up on it now.

For the sake of other readers, pramipexole is no longer recommended as a first treatment for RLS necause of the high risk of complications.

Not what you're looking for?
