Any benefits of acupuncture?
Hi Boomerang83
There are past threads on this that you can find by using the search box and typing in acupuncture. Unfortunately you will see that the majority of replies state that is does not help RLS.
Here is one past thread on acupuncture: healthunlocked.com/rlsuk/po...
Yes I tried 8 sessions but no luck with it
No luck with me. I even had an episode on the table while the pins were stuck in! Had several tries, may have helped my anxiety but certainly not my legs. We are all different though, it’s just an expensive trial if it doesn’t work!
I tried 2 or 3 sessions for RLS but didn’t see any difference. I’ve tried it for other things such as knee pain or anxiety and again no detectable benefit. However I have a close relative who is very sceptical and the last person you’d expect to try alternative therapies who says it gave him huge pain relief after a significant back operation and helped him get mobile again. The odds aren’t on your side though.
Yes but sadly with no success.
I tried daily treatments for 2 weeks with a master of acupuncture. Alas, no help whatsoever.
Unusually, there is almost universal consensus amongst sufferers that acupuncture doesn't work. Like all the other posters here, it made no impact for me and cost me a lot of money. It is infuriating to see it so widely recommended for rls by support bodies, websites etc.
I did acupuncture twice a week for about nine months, and unfortunately it didn’t appear to affect my RLS at all.
I feel I have to defend acupuncture as an effective therapy.
It has become increasingly accepted as a treatment over the last few decades and I believe university health faculties run courses in it.
I myself have had two courses of acupuncture treatment and found it very helpful both times.
However, neither of the two treatments were for RLS.
Generally speaking, it does appear that it doesn't help with RLS at all.
However that doesn't mean it doesn't work for other issues, particularly pain.
Tried. Useless for me.
