MY BEAST WITHIN

I CAN’T SEE MY BEAST, BUT IT’S ALWAYS THERE

READY TO STRIKE, TO TAKE ME UNAWARES

THIS BEAST DETERMINES WHETHER I SIT OR LAY

IT HAS SUCH POWER, PLEASE TELL ME WHY

MY BEAST IS NOW REARING IT’S HEAD SO HIGH

CAN I SURVIVE AUGMENTATION I STAND AND CRY

WARNINGS OF ADDICTIONS WERE STATED AT FIRST

BUT WITHDRAWAL LIKE THIS, IT COMES NO WORSE.

KICKING AND SHAKING, MY LEGS THEN MY ARMS

BANGING MY HEAD, I DON’T CARE IF I CAUSE HARM

BUT YOU, MY BEAST CAN TRY AS HARD AS YOU LIKE

I’M DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO GIVE UP THE FIGHT

Brilliant. I hope you get through withdrawal safely. It's horrible but many of us have managed it.

Good for you, keep on fighting, withdrawal is worth it.

Keep fighting! Augmentation and withdrawal are both dreadful but it is possible to beat them both. Stay strong 😊

Using arts like your poetry can be powerful tools to focus and disperse pain, and explain what RLS is really like for you to others. Bravo. There’s a peaceful dawn on the horizon. (BrianAtPlay.com/restless-legs-syndrome.)
