Update on the hospital admittance

I didn’t get admitted right away, but I am having my gallbladder out very shortly. Within a couple days most likely. The ER discovered a 3+ cm gallstone along with some smaller ones in my gallbladder and decided not to tell me. They should’ve had this thing out of me then and there. My primary doctor thankfully works in that same hospital and scheduled an appointment with a surgeon to have the gallbladder taken out. This is all so ridiculous. I’m worried about my legs.

Great to hear you're getting the gallstones sorted.

I suspect one may have escaped form your gall bladder, I hope not, but if you have it can be sorted.

Yes! My grandfather suspects that they’re siphoning. That’s probably why I’m throwing up so much. I wonder if some have escaped. Doesn’t matter, my doctor is dead-set on removing the whole thing. I’m not excited. I hope the surgery goes well.

Yes, I hope the surgery goes well.

Thank you for the update. Good work from your gp. Good that the stones are getting removed. Has the yellowness lessened a bit, or will that not be until after the surgery?

Good that Jools or was it Sampsie directed you to the medical alert card. Be adamant about what they use on you. It is your body and they need your permission.

If you reply to this or one of your other own posts, you can keep us update.

Get well soon!

Oh no, the whole gallbladder is coming out! I’m not yellow, that much is good. I’m still crazy pale though.

And yes! Sampsie directed me to that. It’ll hopefully come in handy. I can’t print it out, but I will have it on me. They’re not putting anything in me without my permission. They’re not persuading me either. I’m known to be very stubborn :)

Thank you!

What is it about gallbladders lately, i am having the same problem, started a few weeks ago, the pain was unbearable, i was hoping someone would put me down.!! Had another really bad attack two days later, been to doctors, she ordered a scan i am having that tomorrow , had blood tests. too I am taking pain meds when it flairs up. I am also worried about going in to have the gallbladder out as in how things are right now with virus also how do you pace after a operation as i pace alot. ? mmjxc i just read your other post on your gallbladder, you sound so much worse than me, i only threw up once and altho have felt nausea a few times i wasnt actually sick. I have been keeping off any food that has a high fat content and that includes butter on my bread. It has helped some what. I am getting attacks some times twice a day, and the other night it was all night but bearable. I hope you get yours out really soon, one thing i will say is to ask for Zofran as a anti-nausea med when the operate as they usually add a anti-nausea. and most make RLS worse.

It’s awful! I don’t know how I put up with it for this long. I’ve probably had this issue for well over 2 months without realizing it. My doctor said I can’t even take any ibuprofen or anything because of the possibility of ulcers as well. I think the operation is laparoscopic so they wouldn’t keep you overnight, but like you said, how are we supposed to move around? They better have me on a lot of narcotics.

I wish I could eat. I also have no idea what triggers my RLS food wise so I don’t know what to avoid. All I want is sugar though. I want fruits and juice so bad.

I will also be very adamant about which meds I’m being given. I hope you get well soon. Having this issue is awful.

My sons partner before Christmas has gone through this she was kept in over night had the op one day kept over night and home the next day. To come home the same day would be great, but will see what the scan shows tomorrow. I am so sorry you cant eat anything, do you usually crave sugary drinks ? I cant take strong pain meds i am a light weight where meds are concerned which i why i pace alot

Ugh, I would not want to stay overnight. I feel for her. Keep me updated on what your scan says. Hopefully something that can be treated quickly.

I only crave drinks like this when I’m severely malnourished and lacking vitamins. Maybe once the gallbladder is out I’ll be able to absorb nutrients better.

I’m sorry about the meds. I’m also kind of a lightweight.

Had mine out 6 yrs ago, a little thing like that give so much pain, hope they do it keyhole, but have to tell you that residual pain is still with me, also hundreds of others. Your brain will not react if you go with the flow, so your legs should be fine. None of us know why.

Me too! I don’t think they’ll cut me open unless they really have to. I worry about how my body will function afterwards too. I’m only 20 and my grandfather (physician) isn’t completely okay with the idea of a complete removal, but if that’s what they have to do, oh well. I just want to feel better.

Sorry to hear about your GB. Watch for multiple odd phenomime. I have celiac disease which and removal of the GB was its catalyst. It took 9 years to confirm I had Celiac I later learned many people with latent CD had never had a problem till GB was removed.

That’s so weird. I wonder why. I’ll talk to my surgeon about it before the surgery, maybe he’ll have some insight.

Scan today showed i do have gallstones , will have to wait for results sent to my doctors then take it from there.

I’m so sorry. They suck, I know what you’re feeling. I hope they’re taken care of quickly. Hopefully you can keep your gallbladder! :(

Thank you! This is really interesting. I wonder if my birth control screwed thongs up. I’ve been switching between different progesterone-only birth control for 2 years. It must have had a role in this.

I have almost no doubt, but I am not a doctor. You're young to have gallbladder issues. Would seem like there's something else in the mix causing those gallstones.
