Asleep but not asleep

Another peculiarity is where I drop off to sleep quickly & start snoring (according to my partner) yet I am fully conscious & trying hard to actually go to sleep. I did this with a meditation app where as soon as I started to listen I was gone, yet 3 hours later I am convinced I have been awake throughout & darting about from subject to subject in my brain as clear as day. Anyone experienced this as I think it's related to Gabapentin?

I get this without Gabapentin. Just like you said, waking up a few hours later convinced I never fell asleep. The next day when I look back I realize I was actually asleep.

It’s during that phase that I also get involuntary leg twitches/jerks.
