That’s really interesting. Thanks for that, Wonko. Great to see this sort of research being carried out. So we have low uric acid levels - an important biomarker of oxidative stress. I hadn’t even heard of oxidative stress and find it difficult to understand the Wikipedia definition of it. Also I wonder do low levels of iron acid suggest low levels of oxidative stress - or high levels?
Most importantly, can uric acid levels be raised and, if so, could this improve our symptoms? Fascinating stuff.
I haven't had time to read more about oxidative stress which I was planning to do for a while, but I vaguely remember that it might be linked to chronic inflammation. That would make sense and would align with some research I've read not too long ago (will post source if I find it again) . If you find time to look into it, please share what you learned!
