I'm seeing how much attention this RLS is getting in Australia,as for myself i think that is great here in the USA Drs are stumped and each one has a different agenda when it comes to RLS the responses i have gotten are for here's a few to much bread, and not enough vitamins and so on and so on there is no answer..

Drs so confused!!
There are answers, but it is hard work.
You have to do a lot of research. Study your diet and lifestyle. Check your biome. Test your ferritin.
And above all, be extremely disciplined in your life, when you find whatever works.
Ultimately, opioids seem to be the only consistent answer- if you are able to tolerate them.
It may take a few months for the body to get acclimatised.
All the best.
The truth is that the vast majority of doctors do not do any research. They accept what they learned at med school - which will include little or no information about RLS/WED - or what drug reps tell them.
So we must do it, and it means constant searching and reading.
Once one accepts that truth, things may improve.
But some true scientists, many of whom are also doctors, are working hard on our behalf.
Doctors Winkelman, Earley, Buchfuhrer, Garcia- Borreguero, Silber, Ondo, Chaudhuri, ......................these and many others are doing the research that will help us, and here lies hope. They are heroes all.
For some people there are answers. Unfortunately the answers are not the same for everyone. In the US I think some of the essential treatments will cost money.
Have you had your ferritin checked recently? Perhaps just getting a measurement will be a very low cost? You need some medical supervision when mucking around with your iron intake!
Have you tried a diet such as the FODMAP, vegan or the Low Chem diet?
Both these have helped some people. You can start a diet today at very little cost. You could go vegan without even talking to your doctor.
Ive sent some info to you in a PM a few days ago.
Good Luck

I'm finding that having a puff or two of a 50/50 mix of THC (indica type) and CBD oil in a vape pen (I'm lucky enough to be in a state with both recreational and medical MJ) before bed, along with taking 400-600 mg of gabapentin is starting to help me - especially as I wean myself off of pramipexole. I may ask my doc to switch me to Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil), but he's dubious that it would make a difference. He thinks it is the same vehicle and works the same as the much cheaper plain gabapentin. So he's a bit of a case of knowing only what he'd previously learned vs. willing to research/offer new treatments. I had to push him really hard to get the iron tests, since when I first saw him, my iron was "just fine" at 57. This year, after sending him much research and references, he agreed that maybe it should be higher - and so put me on 325 ferrous sulfate and 250 vit C...(I'm now well above 100 for iron) and that plus periodic use of the Relaxis pad along with the THC/CBD mix is helping me come off the pramipexole. And then I'm gonna push him to switch me to Horizant for a month's trial (very expensive drug on my Medicare Part D plan - $40/month vs. <$8/month for the plain gabapentin - but if it works????? it'd be worth it vs all the other stuff I'm paying out of pocket for). Check into if there are any docs near you that are suggested through the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation - I found there are two about 2 hours drive from me that I may pursue if I'm still having issues after being solely on one or the other version of gabapentin plus the iron plus the Relaxis pad....and THC/CBD. Especially since I travel by air and head internationally where THC as well as hauling the large Relaxis pad with me isn't feasible.
