I am so sorry! I suffer, too, from what I’ve described to ppl as getting tortured on The Rack. Your legs literally feel like someone is wringing your legs out and you can’t keep still bc it hurts so badly. Is he on any medication? Once I was medicated, it helped for years until i became extremely anemic and the pain came back ten fold. I was diagnosed by a sleep specialist after doing a sleep study but I believe a Neurologist can dx and treat. Also, people have said magnesium does wonders for them, if he wants to try that first. Good luck!! I hope he finds relief ASAP!

Sorry for his troubles- it's an awful situation to be in. As Purple Darling has said- we need to know what medications he is on. For all ailments.

A lot of meds are triggers for rls. As are a lot of foods. Alcohol, artificial anythings , msg and loads of others. It's an idea to keep an intake diary to help find such triggers. It may be something as simple as ice cream. Everyone is different.

Come back to us with that info- and we can take it from there.

Good luck.

I have tried everything for restless legs I have had them since I was 25 it seems like since I have given up coffee, and pop the have been much better, but my doctor gave me gabapentin and that was like a wonder drug for me...I had no side affects,I don't think it is a habit forming drug..restless legs can also be caused by back problems after years and years of doctors they found a rare cyst growing on the nerve endings of my spine..If you have health insurance and a good primary you should see if your hubby can get an Mri of his spine..so sorry for him, there is no way to describe what this feels like,it is pure torture,it feels like your legs are moving constantly away from you body...hope this helped some, thinking of you both.
